When we decided to travel around the world on a single motorbike we knew that choosing which things to take with us and what to let home is one of the hardest moment. There is very little space and packing up can be a real challenge.
For Manu it was always easy to prepare the bags, it looks like he is always ready but I really was suffering thinking that there are many things I will need and that I couldn´t take with me.
Finally after the whole travel experience our conclusion today is that the most useful things from our travel were some gadgets we never think about
- MULTI-PURPOSE KNIVE
Always in our pocked we have Swiss knife which is very practical. It is small and not heavy, it doesn´t need much room for it but it has many functions. We use during our launch by the road to peel some fresh fruit or make a sandwich. So with this small tool we can make fast our sandwich, also to prepare fire for camping and even many times to tight some screws on the motorbike, this magic knife It is a gadget that we were somehow using daily. - SECRET POCKET TO KEEP MONEY AND PASSPORTS
That´s the best way to be sure always your passport, money and credit cards are in safe place. We use to make cash by the road working with our talks and selling photos and tha´ts the money we use to cover our expenses, we are not credit card guys so if the cash finish or we lose it somehow the travel stops. Same will happen if we lose the passports specially if you have Macedonian passport like me, I got very few embassies in the world that can help me to renew it and I will get stuck in a foreign country. The solution can be expensive, stressful and is going to take long time. - SAFETY GLASSES
One of the best things we love about traveling on motorcycle is to open the helmet visor and to enjoy the wind in our face, to fell the smells of every place and to listen the greeting from the people when they see us. After sunset mosquitoes use to be all around the road so safety transparent glasses are very useful to le tus keep enjoying the ride the way we love. - PRINTED PHOTOS FROM THE JOURNEY
In a previous article I said that the most important for us was to be in contact with locals and that´s why we chose to avoid hotels and sleep in the houses of those people we were meeting along the way, but in many countries we didn´t speak the same language so we found the best way to present ourselves to them and share our visión of the world it was with printed pictures. This pictures and a bit of body language was enough to communicate with our host, It was also our way to pay back so much hospitality and help, showing them the world and if it was posible we even were taking pictures with them and printing it as a present before we leave so they will remember those foreigners travelers that once were their guest. - SELFIE STICK
It was so useful for us becucase we were two person traveling in a single bike, one is riding while the other have free hands to get some nice shots without the necessity to stop. But sincerely, for what we use that selfie stick the most was not for taking photos. We are outdoor camping lovers and that selfie stick was amazing gadget every time we woke up in the middle of the night with some strange noise, I means when near our tent show up a curious animal. With the selfie stick we could push away rats, snakes or scorpions so we can keep with our rest. But before to open the zip of your tent and jump out with your selfie stick be sure of what kind of animal you are expecting to face, this tool is not working to scare all kind of animals.
